3 hanggang 4 na gintong medalya kayang languyin ng National swimmers

Dala na rin ng kanyang malalim na karanasan, walang gatol na sinabi ni Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman Eric Buhain na kayang lumangoy ng mga national swimmers ng tatlo hanggang apat na gintong medalya sa hostilidad ng swimming event ng 22nd Vietnam Southeast Asian Games na gaganapin sa Hanoi, City ngayong Disyembre.

Ayon kay Buhain, dating multi-national swimmer at dating head coach ng swimming team, maayos ang preparasyong isinasagawa ng mga atleta mula sa Philippine Amateur Swimming Association (PASA), bukod pa ang pagbibigay ng exposure sa kanila sa labas ng bansa kaya’t walang dahilan upang mangamote ang RP tankers sa nasabing biennial meet na ito.

Isa sa inaasahang makapag-uuwi ng medalya ay sina Miguel Molina at Jenny Guerrero na kayang kumubra ng ginto ng hindi bababa sa dalawa.

"Six have qualified and two are still going to qualify," wika ni Buhain. "Possibly in swimming itself, we have Miguel Molina, who’s probably good for a gold or two, depends on the schedule of the events. And Jenny Guerrero, so that’s three," pahayag ni Buhain.

Maliban sa swimming, isa pa sa inaasahan ni Buhain na makapagbibi-gay ng ginto ay ang diving team.

Sinabi ni Buhain na ang national diving squad ang siyang nangunguna sa Southeast Asia kaya’t malaki ang posibilidad na magiging maganda ang kampanya ng bansa para tabunan ang nakakadismayang ikalimang pagtatapos nito sa Kuala Lumpur SEA Games.

"Diving is another strong prospect. We are ranked No. 1 in three events in diving. Siguro mga six medals kaya natin. Kulay na lang ang pinag-uusapan," ani Buhain. "Their desire to win is really, really up there." - (Maribeth Repizo)
