WATCH: Plastic that produces no waste could be coming soon

RIOM, France — What if plastic was no longer waste?

French chemicals company Carbios has developed enzyme-based processes which rethink the life-cycle of plastics so they can be endlessly recycled.

"The recycling process developed by Carbios is very simple: from water bottles such as this one or soda bottles, we will make flakes of this type which will then be reduced into a powder. This powder is then introduced into a reactor, such as this one, where water and an enzyme are simply added," Alain Marty, Scientific Director of Carbios said.
