The DOJ indicted Chinese national Gong Wen Li, also known as Kelly, for two counts of kidnapping with homicide.
Following the conclusion of the preliminary investigation of the National Prosecution Service, the DOJ found evidence with “reasonable certainty of conviction” to file charges against Gong.
The DOJ recommended referring Yuan Haohua, Yuan Fanquiang and Lee Hsiao Ting to the police Anti-Cybercrime Group for case buildup under the Anti-Financial Account Scamming Act.
“The respondents will be afforded their right to due process. Their constitutional rights will be safeguarded throughout the judicial proceedings,” the DOJ said.
