Licenses of 3 Florida bus drivers revoked for speeding

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has revoked the licenses of three bus drivers of GV Florida Transport Inc. due to a viral video showing several of the company’s buses speeding along the highway in Nueva Vizcaya.
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon confirmed the revocation during a press conference yesterday, saying the Land Transportation Office has enforced sanctions against the drivers.
“But we have a problem. GV Florida is refusing to surrender three other drivers. We are demanding that they turn over those drivers,” Dizon said. “We will impose heavier penalties if the company fails to comply.”
Dizon said the erring drivers must answer the complaint filed against them.
Earlier, the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board suspended for 30 days 15 buses of GV Florida after a netizen uploaded video footage of the buses racing along the Diadi-Cordon Road.
The company has apologized for the incident, but Dizon declined to accept it, saying the DOTr is serious in promoting road safety.
