P4 million released to TUPAD workers in Tarlac

TARLAC CITY , Philippines — Up to P4 million in financial assistance has been released to 772 beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers or TUPAD program in this city and in the town of Paniqui.
The 10-day emergency employment program is being implemented by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in coordination with provincial and local government units.
Jose Roberto Navata, chief of the DOLE-Tarlac, said the beneficiaries were tapped to maintain cleanliness in their communities and public facilities.
Aside from providing financial support, the DOLE expanded the program by providing skills training to 50 select beneficiaries.
The training was conducted at the PGT Tarlac Center for Learning and Skills Success, which is accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.
By combining financial assistance with skills development, the DOLE hopes to empower disadvantaged workers to overcome economic challenges and achieve self-reliance.
