PWD dies in Bulacan fire

CAMP ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan, Philippines — A person with disability died in a fire that broke out in Calumpit, Bulacan  on Thursday night.

The 17-year-old victim, identified only as Jamaica, was alone when the fire broke out at around 7:33 p.m. in Barangay Iba O’ Este, according to a report received by Col. Franklin Estoro, acting Bulacan police director.

Firefighters declared the fire out at 7:59 p.m.

Due to her condition, the victim failed to get out of their house. She died of suffocation, probers said.

Arson investigators have yet to determine the cause of the fire.
