MANILA, Philippines — A 62-year-old driver of a ride-hailing app was found dead in his car, which was parked in Quezon City yesterday.

Probers said the fatality, identified only as Crisanto, was found lifeless along Miriam Defensor Santiago Avenue at around 6 a.m.

Quezon City Police District officer-in-charge Col. Randy Glenn Silvio said the victim had no external injuries.

A witness told police that he forcibly opened the vehicle when he saw the victim slumped in the driver’s seat, with the car engine turned off.

The victim’s co-workers suspect that he may have suffered a heart attack.

A friend of Crisanto said the victim parked the car in the area on Monday night.

Crisanto was last seen alive by his operator on April 24.

Security guards in the area called the police after they saw the victim’s body in the early stages of decomposition.

Probers said they are conducting a probe to determine the victim’s cause of death.
