Drug suspect tags 2 in Boracay tourist’s slay

MANILA, Philippines — A person of interest in the murder of a Slovak tourist, whose decomposing body was found in Boracay a week ago, has pointed to his two friends as the perpetrators of the crime.
In his affidavit, the person of interest – identified as alias Mik, 28 – said his friends Jelo and JR sexually molested and killed Michaela Mickova.
Mik was arrested in an anti-drug operation on March 14, or two days after Mickova’s body was found at an abandoned chapel in Barangay Balabag.
On March 16, charges of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 were filed against Mik.
He said that while in detention, he was bothered by his conscience about Mickova’s death and informed the police that he wanted to give testimony against his friends.
He said that on March 10, the three of them met at the house of a friend for a drink.
The friend, however, was not home so they went to a nearby hotel, where they saw Mickova arrive at past 6:10 p.m. Jelo engaged her in a brief chat.
Mik said he did not know the woman, but all four of them agreed to go to the abandoned chapel.
He said Jelo led the way while holding Mickova by the wrist. He said the woman did not resist, but upon arriving at the chapel, she freed herself from Jelo’s grip.
Mik said he was minding his phone when he heard a loud thud and saw JR holding a piece of wood.
He said JR appeared to have struck Mickova from behind and that he saw him hit her again on the head, causing the woman to fall to the ground unconscious.
Mik said Jelo and JR carried Mickova’s body into the chapel and laid her down on the floor. He said he saw Jelo with his pants down and was about to ask him what was going on when he heard voices of children who were passing by the area, prompting him to leave.
Mik said he went to a friend’s house and had a drink. He said Jelo and JR arrived more than 30 minutes later. They did not talk about the incident at the chapel.
Mik said the four of them had a drink and they also smoked marijuana.
Two days later, Mik said he was surprised to hear that a woman was found dead at the chapel.
Results of an autopsy conducted on Mickova’s body showed that she died of head injuries and was sexually abused.
