Armed group ransacks San Juan building

MANILA, Philippines — Armed men stormed a building in San Juan reportedly due to a property dispute, police reported yesterday.
Authorities said a commotion erupted after unidentified people forcibly entered the V.V. Soliven Building at around 3 a.m., destroying doors and closed-circuit television cameras as well as breaking glass panels.
A security guard was injured after being struck on the head with a gun, police said.
The situation led to a lockdown of the building as police reinforced their presence in the area.
The Special Weapons and Tactics team was deployed to secure the building.
The police Supervisory Office for Security and Investigation Agencies was also called in to mediate the dispute.
According to police, the incident stemmed from a corporate property dispute.
Some of the people involved in the incident were allegedly after land titles stored in the company’s vault.
