P7 million shabu seized in Davao; 2 nabbed

DAVAO CITY, Philippines — A joint team of Task Force Davao and the Davao City Police Office arrested two men, believed to be engaged in the illegal drug trade, and seized more than one kilo of shabu at a checkpoint in Toril District over the weekend.

In a report, the team said suspects alias Mijan and alias Abden were entering the city using a pickup truck when they were stopped at a checkpoint for routine inspection.

The two allegedly acted suspiciously, prompting police to check the vehicle further.

After the discovery of the shabu, valued at P6.93 million, the two men allegedly attempted to bribe the policemen with P16,800 in cash. Charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspects.
