3 killed in Zamboanga City shooting

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines — Three men on a motorcycle were shot dead by an unidentified gunman in a convoy of three sport utility vehicles (SUVs) in this city yesterday.
The fatalities – Troy Resurrection, 24; Jovert Marcos, 40, and Anthony James Resurrection – were headed home when the SUVs blocked their path along Falcatan street in Barangay Tetuan at around 2:25 a.m.
The victims reportedly came from a bar in Barangay Putik along with two other companions on another motorcycle who were not harmed by the gunman.
Reports said that before the shooting, the victims figured in a spat with unidentified men in the parking lot of the bar.
Police said the gunman approached and shot the victims at close range.
Witnesses said they heard the gunman telling the companions of the victims to leave the area.
The gunman reportedly gathered the bullet shells before fleeing in the convoy.
Responding police officers saw the victims lying on the road beside their motorcycle.
Probers said they recovered a loaded .45-caliber pistol, bullet shell and a deformed slug from the crime scene.
Col. Kimberly Molitas, chief of the Zamboanga City police, said probers have identified several persons of interest in connection with the incident.
