MANILA, Philippines — The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) has “a lot of measures” in place as it aims to be one of the world’s top 100 airports, an official said on Tuesday night.

Skytrax’s World Airport Survey 2023, released last week, named Singapore’s Changi Airport as the best airport in the world. The Philippines is not listed in the top 100.

MIAA senior assistant general manager Bryan Co, in an interview aired over OneNews’ “The Chiefs,” said these measures, if “consistently followed,” would “increase our standing in terms of being one of the ideal airports around the world.”

Among these measures is digitalization, according to Co, who cited that NAIA will have an automated passenger processing system that will allow passengers to do self check-ins and bag drops.

He added that the MIAA is also eyeing to strengthen its personnel through training.
