LA TRINIDAD, Benguet, Philippines – Apayao Gov. Elias Bulut Jr. is offering a P200,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the killers of Councilor Bienvenido Verzola III of Luna town.
Probers were eyeing personal grudge in Verzola’s killing although they were not discounting other possible motives like politics, said Senior Superintendent Albertito Garcia, Apayao police director.
Verzola, 39, was gunned down in front of a waiting shed in the Luna town proper last Monday night.
The councilor died from bullet wounds in the right arm, left thigh, below the nipple and left knee.
Police have taken the accounts of Jeffrey Pinzon and Millo Ramos who were with Verzola when he was killed.
