MANILA, Philippines - Besides prohibiting people from wearing caps inside malls, authorities have also proposed the banning of wearing of sunglasses inside business establishments.
Chief Superintendent Carmelo Valmoria, National Capital Region Police Office head, said he made the recommendation during a meeting with mall operators and security personnel last week.
Valmoria however, added that shoppers can bring their sunglasses inside the malls but have to take them off once they enter stores and business establishments such as banks and money changers.
He said the propose measured will prevent criminals from hiding their faces from CCTV cameras installed inside the establishments.
Earlier, Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas said the Philippine National Police recommended that hardware items such as crowbars and hammers bought from the malls to be claimed only outside premises.
The proposal was made following the latest heist inside SM North Edsa jewelry section, where robbers used hammer bought at a hardware store to smash the glass panel to get valuables.
