MANILA, Philippines - Some 465 organic personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency were subjected to a surprise drug test at the PDEA national headquarters in Quezon City.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. directed Drug Enforcement Officers, administrative and technical personnel to submit their urine samples for the mandatory drug test last November 11.
The drug tests were administered by the PDEA Laboratory Service after the PDEA Monday flag-raising ceremony.
Last Nov. 6, PDEA officials submitted themselves to a surprise drug test that was also administered by PDEA Laboratory Service headed by Director Belen Banog.
"Drug test results revealed that PDEA Officials, Service Directors and Regional Directors were all 100 percent drug-free.
"This shows that PDEA, as the lead agency in battling the drug menace, is a drug-free workplace and a role model to other government agencies. This is just part of the standard procedure to set a good example in cleansing our ranks," Cacdac said.
