MAGALANG, Pampanga – Government officials and students prepared 4,000 kilos of fresh tilapia with 350 large sacks of charcoal hoping to set a record of longest “Tilapia” grilling festival in the country.
The fresh tilapia were grilled in two kms. long iron grills from the main gate of the Pampanga Agricultural College, here, which stretches until the forestry building and through the administration building of the school.
The event was held Wednesday with Gov. Eddie Panlilio, Magalang Mayor Lyndon Cunanan and Andy Gulapa, Aldo Ning Kapampangangan executive committee and other local government officials.
Panlilio said the event is one of the highlights of the Pampanga Day Celebration held at the PAC.
The event aims to promote the potentials of the tilapia industry of the province and focus more attention on the booming fishpond business, he said.
At least 2,700 students of the state college with 400 faculty manned the two-kilometer grill from the main gate of the campus. – Ric Sapnu
