PDEA now hiring agents

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) is again opening its doors to applicants wanting to become anti-narcotics enforcers.

The agency is in the recruitment and selection process for agent-trainees for the Drug Enforcement Officer (DEO) Basic Course Class 2014-07, PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said yesterday.

“Once recruited, a DEO has an entry level position of Intelligence Officer 1, a permanent item with Salary Grade 11 as well as opportunity to become part of the premier organization of drug law enforcement in the country,” Cacdac said.

The recruits are expected to complete a six-month comprehensive training program at the PDEA Academy in Silang, Cavite.

Interested applicants should be 21 to 35 years of age and must meet the minimum height requirement of 5’4” for men and 5’2” for women.

They must also submit an application letter addressed to the PDEA chief.

Cacdac said he is looking forward to beefing up the agency’s anti-narcotics team.

“These applicants may well become potential reinforcements that will enhance PDEA’s stance and provide more bite in ridding the country of illegal drugs,” he said.
