Man killed for P2,000 in coins

For refusing to hand over his collection of P2,000 in coins, a video karera bet collector in Sta. Cruz, Manila paid with his life after he was stabbed dead by three men yesterday.

The police identified the victim as Enrique Pablo, 35, of 1374 J. Nolasco St., Tondo. Pablo, along with Jonifer Dilag, 25, a fellow bet collector, had just finished collecting bets from a machine at 866 Oroquieta St. at about 1:30 a.m. when the incident happened.

Police said Pablo and Dilag were employed as video karera bet collectors by a certain Benny Go.

Investigators said Pablo and Dilag had just stepped out of the parlor when the men approached them. The suspects demanded that Pablo hand over the bag containing the video karera bet collection. But Pablo refused and one of the suspects stabbed him. – Mike Frialde
