Heading to Wanderland tomorrow? Time to round up your music fest warriors.
MANILA, Philippines — It’s summer, so you know what that means: it’s music festival season. A time when you get to see all your favorite acts in one venue (for one ticket!), hang out with your friends and get drunk (sorry, mom), and best of all, people watch (because what else are you gonna do?).
Wanderland is happening tomorrow, March 10, so you better get those people-watching goggles ready. Not to be creepy or anything, but to just be on the lookout for style inspo (in case you need to #DoBetter on your outfit next year), or look for cool people to make friends with. You gotta do something while the next band sets up, right?
In a perfect world, your entire barkada would be into each and every act on the Wanderland stage, but we all can’t be shining beacons of musical and pop culture knowledge. We’ve assembled a (near) perfect group of buddies to help you get into each act’s groove (in case you weren’t already there). Choose your hero.

Wanderland Music and Arts Festival is happening at Filinvest Event Grounds, Alabang. Gates open at 12 p.m.
The Road Runner
This guy is probably the coolest guy you’ll ever meet. He’s got that Timothée Chalamet vibe: a little stand-offish but hella irresistible. He’s into electronic music and is kind of a recluse. He’s always wearing a leather jacket every time you see him for some reason, which makes you wonder if he ever gets hot, or if he’s just a vampire.
Power-ups: Never sweats (hence the leather jackets), looks cool just standing there, will let you bum a cigarette (but you can’t smoke at the venue, so no dice).
Playlist: Lauv, Bag Raiders, Kodaline
The Smooth Operator
Okay, you know that one friend that just knows everyone? Like every five seconds, they bump into someone they know. Which is good if you want to make friends, but not when you have to go to the bathroom or get a good spot in the line for drinks. She’s super charming, confident AF, and can dance their pants off.
Power-ups: Can make small talk with literally anyone, will buy you a drink (to make up for those delays!) will teach your awkward self a few dance moves.
Playlist: Daniel Caesar, Jess Connelly, FKJ
The Retro Raver
This girl will get you thinking: she must be loaded. She’s got super cool clothes and goes to all the best gigs and parties in town. You know this ‘cause you always keep track of her IG story. She ain’t got no sugar daddy, no. All her stuff is vintage. Yeah, you just wish you were as cool as her, because she never looks uncomfortable and her style is Always. On. Point.
Power-ups: Knows all the good thrift spots, friends with all the cool bands, can sneak past the bouncer despite her attention-grabbing outfit.
Playlist: IV of Spades, Basically Saturday Night, Carousel Casualties
The Beach Babe
She’s always in some far-flung paradise. You only ever see her in immaculate vacation photos, but when you do see her in person, she’s a vision. She’s got than tan that never leaves, bouncy curls that only the seawater breeze can set, and that infectious, eternally chill attitude. She’s the beach, personified (she smells like it, too, even when she’s in the city).
Power-ups: Is cool with anything, anytime; never needs any highlighter because than tan just glows; barely works out but still has abs for some reason.
Playlist: Jhené Aiko, Asch
The Loverboi
There’s always that one member of the barkada who’s a hopeless romantic, and this guy’s that. Super sentimental and always looks at things with rose-colored glasses. If he’s dating someone when you guys go to the music fest, he might propose; if he’s single, he might cry when that song comes on. But hey, at least he reminds you that being stone cold ain’t the only way to go, and that being all mushy with your feelings is a-okay.
Power-ups: Gives good hugs, always great with those deep existential conversations, and always sees the good in people.
Playlist: Quest, Ben&Ben
