LANCASTER NEW CITY, Cavite — There's nothing more fulfilling than sharing love and kindness this Christmas season. But it's even more special seeing children share and give care to their fellow kids in need. This year's gift giving at Lancaster New City brings together St. Edward Schools, the community school system right inside the development, and the Children's Joy Orphanage to have one big Christmas party on December 17.

Fifty St. Edward students became Santa's helpers and were partnered with 25 kids of the Children's Joy Orphanage to be their buddies for the day. While waiting for the program to start, all the kids got busy with coloring books and activity sheets. The St. Edward kids shared stories with their buddies and assisted them at activities. Moderators from St. Edward Schools and representatives from the Children's Joy Orphanage were also present at the event to make sure the kids were supervised.

After the welcome remarks by the PCFI representative and opening prayer from the St. Edward Schools representative, the St. Edward students took the stage to showcase their talents. The dance group showed their moves on stage while the acoustic group serenaded the crowd. The performances put smiles on Children's Joy Orphanage kids as they cheered their buddies on.

The performances were then followed by games. Kids pinned Rudolph's bright red nose on his face in the game Rudolph's Red Nose, while they danced and froze to music in Hugs to Jerusalem, a version of the Trip to Jerusalem.

Santa and his friends also made an appearance at the event to perform while the kids were having their snacks. Eyes gleaned as Santa went onstage and waved at each one.

The St. Edward students handed out gifts to their Children's Joy buddies in the gift-giving ceremony. It was a moment of happy tears and hands tearing through gift wrappers.

The day ended with a performance from the Children's Joy Orphanage with the kids singing onstage to show their appreciation to everyone who welcomed them to the gift-giving event, especially to their St. Edward buddies for the day. Everyone was welcomed to watch the first Santa's Workshop Christmas lightshow that weekend.

Being the ates and kuyas of orphan kids, the St. Edward students provided love and care to others by guiding and helping them to make sure everyone enjoys at the party. As part of the school's mission and vision, the St. Edward Schools made it a point to create venues where students to develop character growth and instill in them values that will make them people of compassion and reliable leaders in the future. The gift-giving activity was only among many participated in by the St. Edward Schools to help in the students' holistic development.
