Summer cooler: 'Matipid' Mango Sago recipe

MANILA, Philippines — Summer is the perfect time to enjoy Philippine mangoes, which are the sweetest in the world, since they are in season.
This is why they are bountiful, at their freshest best, and rather inexpensive. And since summertime is really hot, why not make refreshing mango coolers, both drinks and cold desserts, to quench your thirst and keep you cool?
Chef Jackie Ang Po shares this Matipid Mango Sago recipe for everyone to enjoy not just this summer but even beyond.
Matipid Mango Sago
Ingredients:
1 pack gulaman, yellow or mango flavor (25 grams)
2 cups mango juice
1 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
1 cup small sago, cooked
1 pc. mango, scooped into balls
For the creamy mixture:
1 pack Carnation Everyday Creamer
4 tbsps. Carnation Condensada
Procedure:
1. Mix together gulaman, mango juice, water, and sugar. Turn on fire and simmer until sugar is completely melted and mixture is smooth.
2. Remove from fire. Pour into molds and allow to set.
3. Once set, scoop balls out of the gulaman.
4. Pack ice into glasses.
5. Mix together cream and condensada to make a creamy mixture. Pour over ice in glasses. Top with mango gulaman balls, fresh mango balls, and small sago.
6. Enjoy!
