Hip to Dsquared2

MANILA, Philippines - Canadian twins Dean and Dan Caten focus their style and creative imagination on the must-have accessory: sunglasses.

Inspired by the ’70s hip-hop culture, Dsquared2 sunglass collection debuts on the market with 16 designs to choose from for style-savvy men and women.

Contrast is the key element in each design. The men’s frames alternate between tear-drop-shaped metal and perfectly square-shaped acetate embellished with a touch of gold.

The women’s models are angular and wide: big rounded lenses, which resemble the cat-eye glare, but with a touch of glamour.

The colors are warm and tinged with tones of red, tortoise, and deep brown. The quintessential black also commands the presence it should in women’s sunglasses.

Top models Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista, and Tyson Beckford wear some of the iconic styles of the season.

The DQ9 model for men represents a clear connection to the Dsquared2 brand: thick square frames that scream style and subtlety. The silhouette is truly Seventies as the gold jewels send us back to the African-American ghettos in which the music, culture, and hip-hop style was born.

For women, the iconic frame is the DQ19. Its ample, full-bodied design represents a woman who is decisive in character, sure of herself, and who revels in exaggerations without having to hide behind dark lenses.

The D2D metal logo on the temples of the frames personalizes and summarizes both the design and woman as truly Dsquared2.
