FLORENCE, Italy — If you would ever get lost in Florence, it’s easy: just look for the Duomo di Firenze or Florence Cathedral, and you’d be right on track!

Smacked right at the heart of Florence, the cathedral known formally as Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore (Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Flower) as completed in 1436 with its world-famous dome engineered by one of the world’s greatest artists, Filippo Brunelleschi.

The cathedral is one of the world’s biggest churches, while its dome is the biggest masonry dome ever built.

The cathedral complex, known as Piazza del Duomo, includes the Campanile by Italian art master Giotto; and Baptistery. This complex are a part of historic center of Florence, a Unesco World Heritage Site.
