MANILA, Philippines — With no low-pressure area (LPA) in sight, the country can expect generally fair weather today, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.

PAGASA reported “no LPAs are being monitored for tropical cyclone formation” within or outside the Philippine area of responsibility as of 2 p.m. yesterday.

The easterlies would still prevail in most parts of the country including Metro Manila, while the intertropical convergence zone or ITCZ could affect Mindanao and Eastern Visayas.

Areas affected by the ITCZ could experience “cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms” while those affected by the easterlies would see “partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.”

Moderate to strong winds and waves would blow and crash onto extreme Northern Luzon, while light to moderate winds and waves would be seen in other parts of the country.
