MANILA, Philippines (First published May 12, 9:48 p.m.) — In a surprising turn of events, Akbayan continued to lead the party-list race based on partial, unofficial results from transparency servers as of 1:04 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13.

Akbayan has so far garnered around 2.7 million votes, a sharp contrast to pre-election surveys where it failed to break into the top 10 party-list groups.

In WR Numero’s last non-commissioned survey from April, Akbayan ranked 21st, with just 1.3% of respondents indicating support.

Their performance was even weaker in Pulse Asia and Social Weather Stations' polls, where they garnered only about 0.5% — a figure statistically unlikely to secure a seat.

Based on the latest tally, six party-list groups have breached the 2% threshold required to obtain at least one seat in the House of Representatives:

  • Akbayan – 2,706,050 votes (5.98%)

  • Duterte Youth – 2,295,792 votes (5.07%)

  • Tingog – 1,793,518 votes (3.96%)

  • 4Ps – 1,446,604 votes (3.20%)

  • ACT-CIS – 1,209,746 votes (2.67%)

  • AKO BICOL – 1,095,741 votes (2.42%)

These six groups are poised to secure at least one seat each, with the possibility of winning up to the maximum of three seats, depending on final vote tallies.

Among the party-list groups likely to win, according to partial and unofficial results that align with pre-election surveys, are Duterte Youth—fueled by recent issues surrounding the Duterte family—as well as 4Ps, ACT-CIS and Senior Citizens.

Here is the current ranking as of 1:04 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13:

  • Akbayan – 2,706,050 votes (5.98%)

  • Duterte Youth – 2,295,792 votes (5.07%)

  • Tingog – 1,793,518 votes (3.96%)

  • 4Ps – 1,446,604 votes (3.20%)

  • ACT-CIS – 1,209,746 votes (2.67%)

  • AKO BICOL – 1,095,741 votes (2.42%)

  • Uswag Ilonggo – 808,348 votes (1.79%)

  • Solid North Party – 761,208 votes (1.68%)

  • Trabaho – 642,198 votes (1.42%)

  • PPP – 577,337 votes (1.28%)

  • CIBAC – 575,587 votes (1.27%)

  • Senior Citizens – 564,677 votes (1.25%)

  • Malasakit @Bayanihan – 563,372 votes (1.24%)

  • ML – 542,189 votes (1.20%)

  • 4K – 537,703 votes (1.19%)

  • United Senior Citizens – 522,045 votes (1.15%)

  • FPJ Panday Bayanihan – 519,094 votes (1.15%)

  • COOP-NATCCO – 508,559 votes (1.12%)

It is still possible for party-lists to have at least one seat despite falling below the 2% threshold.
