LPA weakens; rains to persist

MANILA, Philippines — Moderate to heavy rains are projected across several regions after low-pressure area monitored near Pulupandan, Negros Occidental further weakened, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration.
Mimaropa, parts of Quezon, Bicol, the Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro and Soccsksargen are expected to be affected by the weather system.
In Metro Manila and most parts of Luzon, skies are forecast to be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated thunderstorms.
