MANILA, Philippines — The mother of a Filipino-American family from New Jersey is the lone survivor of a crash near Townsend, Delaware Friday that killed her husband and four daughters.

A Fox News report said Mary Rose Ballocanag Trinidad, 53, who was in the front passenger seat of a 1998 Toyota Sienna, was injured and brought to hospital. She is reportedly in stable condition.

The report said the crash took place on State Route 1 Highway in Townsend as the Trinidads were on their way home to New Jersey.

The Newark Star-Ledger reported that a friend of the family, Linda Douglas, identified the victims as Audie Trinidad, father; daughters Kaitlyn, 20; Danna, 17; and teenage twins Allison and Melissa.

The report, quoting Delaware State Police Master Cpl. Melissa Jaffe, said a southbound 2007 Ford F-350 pickup crossed the median and struck a 2002 Mercury Sable traveling northbound.

Jaffe said the Sable came to rest on the median, while the pickup continued to travel southbound in the northbound lanes and hit a minivan carrying the Trinidad family.

Douglas started a GoFundMe page on behalf of Mary Rose.
