MANILA, Philippines - Graduates of the University of the Philippines (UP) dominated the licensure examination for metallurgical engineers, the Professional Regulation Commission announced yesterday.
The top 10 examinees all came from UP-Diliman.
The three-day examination held in the cities of Manila and Davao used the Walk-in Examination System, which is Windows-based and competency-based computerized testing system that enables an applicant to take a licensure examination anytime and anywhere.
Jerome Corpuz topped the exams with a score of 84.15 percent, followed by Maria Marecris Soriano, who obtained a grade of 83.90 percent.
Placing third with a score of 82.20 percent was Jerome Musa. Chaitanya Caraga captured the fourth slot with a grade of 82.20 percent.
Fifth placer was Edwin Roven Canezal with a score of 82.10 percent, followed by Jan Lowell Buquiz with a score of 81.75 percent. Waynah Lou Dacayan ranked seventh with a grade of 81.60 percent.
Michael Angelo Verdijo landed on the eight spot with a grade of 81.55 percent, followed by Christian Concepcion in ninth place and Joy Marisol Maniaul in 10th place with 81.40 percent and 81.20 percent, respectively.
Registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will start on Aug. 19 to 29.
