Government workers tapped in anti-corruption drive

MANILA, Philippines - The Office of the Ombudsman has signed a memorandum of agreement with non-government labor organization Public Services Labor Independent Confederation (PSLINK) for its new program, which aims to curb corruption in government agencies.

The newly launched “Bantay Lustay” project aims to minimize corruption in government offices, particularly in the procurement process, by encouraging workers’ organizations to report incidences of corruption in their offices.

“You know your workplace, the people running them. And as a labor organization, you have a full grip of the issues haunting your workplace,” Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierez said during the signing of the agreement.
