A Saudi Arabian court sentenced to death on Tuesday three of the seven overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) accused of killing their three compatriots whose body parts were chopped off and found in Southern Jeddah last year, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) confirmed yesterday.
DFA spokesman Claro Cristobal said in a press briefing that the Grand Shariah Court found Eduardo Arcilla and siblings Edison and Rolando Gonzales of Pampanga province guilty of killing and chopping off the body parts of Reno Lumbang, Jeremias Bucod and Dante Rivero.
Cristobal said the court ordered eight years imprisonment for the convicts’ accomplices Wilson Basilio, Joel Sinamban, Efren Dimaun and Victor Alfonso, also from Pampanga.
He said the court also ordered 1,000 lashes for each of the four accomplices. – Pia Lee-Brago
