MANILA, Philippines — Fresh off their Coachella 2025 appearance, American rock band Incubus announced the title of its new album featuring the bass work of its new female guitarist, Nicole Row, eight years after their last album in 2017.

“Something In the Water” is Incubus’ ninth studio album after the release of their “8” album in 2017.

“I think it’s a really great record, and I’m really proud of it, and all of us in the band are really proud of it. We had a wonderful time recording it,” said lead vocalist Brandon Boyd in an interview with Flux FM.

Boyd described Row’s inclusion to his band that started in the early 1990s in Calabasas, California, as “a breath of fresh air.” Row, he said, has "amazing ideas" and a “very fast asset” to the band.

Boyd and Row took on the Coachella stage with lead bassist Mike Einzinger to perform three of their many hits from the 2000s.

The refreshing twist came with EDM (electronic dance music) and House artist Zedd taking on the drums from Jose Pasillas as the band performed shortened versions of “Drive,” “Wish You Were Here,” and “Pardone Me,” hits from Incubus’ third and fourth studio albums, “Make Yourself” and “Morning View.”

The new album is set to be released this year.
