Star-Studded Panel Returns for TV5’s ‘Masked Singer Pilipinas’

The “very shy” and “quiet” Arthur Nery will bring out his funny side in the third season of TV5’s “Masked Singer Pilipinas.”
The Pagsamo hitmaker and former contestant of the music show will sit as one of the panel of celebrity judge-detectives alongside Nadine Lustre, Janno Gibbs and Pops Fernandez with Billy Crawford as host.
Billy shared that Arthur’s humorous side just came out naturally while they were taping. “Parang lumabas nga sa institusyon nung araw na yun, eh. We didn’t know where he came from,” quipped Billy at a presscon.
He met Arthur a few times already and noticed how “shy” he is. He is “a man of few words” and “doesn’t speak very much,” added Billy.

“But once you give him the microphone, and kung pwede siyang mangilatis ng tao, he’s very good. So lahat kami parang nabulabog kami on what he could do. And he’s really funny. He’s a naturally funny guy. It’s surprising because who he is as a singer, that’s the opposite of his personality.”
On the other hand, noting how “shy” and “nervous” Arthur was during their first meeting, Janno would tease Arthur to break the ice. “And then he started replying every time I teased him like, ‘Dapat yata si Arthur eh virtual na lang.’ So that he would feel at home.”
Pops, Arthur’s “seatmate” on set, thought that she needed to assist Arthur to make him feel comfortable. “But hindi naman siya nahirapan to feel comfortable on set. I think everyone made him also feel comfortable on set. Not just with amongst us but also the staff and writers. So he easily felt comfortable.”

While working with him, they saw Arthur’s “natural funny side,” continued Pops. “He has a lot to say. Sometimes, we would tell him to stop kasi umo-over na. Haha! But he’s good. He’s also game in situations na pinapagawa rin sa kanya.”
Meanwhile, Arthur admitted that he was nervous at first but when he got to mingle with his co-judges and felt their warm welcome, he felt at ease.
“It was a different feeling when I was a contestant because we were not allowed to speak like nakatago lang kami like ako nasa loob ako ng jeep. They didn’t know what I was doing inside,” said Arthur with a laugh. “It was different because now I could talk to them and we were just happy on set.”
Billy chimed in, “Arthur Nery is a revelation here.”

As to what to expect from the show, Billy disclosed that veteran singers, comedians, and those who previously joined other music programs will be featured in “Masked Singer Pilipinas.”
“There will be personalities, (people of) all ages, so yung magbibigay, magbibigay ng clues, ang lawak nun. Dito talaga yung paghula mo expect the unexpected.”
Moreover, Cignal’s first vice president/head of channels and content management Sienna Olaso remarked, “With Billy’s dynamic hosting and this incredible mix of judges, we know the energy, entertainment and mystery will be next-level. It’s a dream panel that guarantees an amazing show for everyone.”
“The success of our first two seasons proved how much Filipinos love the thrill of ‘Masked Singer Pilipinas.’ With Season 3, we’re bringing the excitement to even greater heights,” added TV5 president and CEO, Guido Zaballero.

Originally from South Korea, the “Masked Singer Pilipinas” is a reality singing competition where masked celebrity contestants battle it out in creative costumes while keeping their identities hidden.
With their masks on, 16 celebrity singers will compete and only one will emerge as the grand winner.
“Our entire production team poured their hearts into creating the most spectacular season yet. Every performance, every costume and every clue was crafted to deliver an unforgettable experience,” shared Studio Viva president and COO, and Viva Communications senior vice president for content creation Valerie del Rosario.
(‘Masked Singer Pilipinas Season 3’ will premiere on May 17 and May 18 at 7:45 p.m., on TV5 and Sari Sari Channel, respectively).
