MANILA, Philippines – What is your “Travoltified†name?
Actor John Travolta took the internet by storm right after the 2014 Academy Awards on Monday, March (Monday in Manila time) when he introduced on the Oscars stage “Let It Go†singer and Broadway star Idina Menzel as the “wickedly talented Adele Dazeem.â€
Unfortunately for Travolta, the flub happened in what is now considered as a landmark moment for the Oscars. An estimated 43 million people watched this year’s broadcast of the Academy Awards, its most viewed airing in a decade. In fact, “John Travolta†became one of the several Oscars-related keywords that became a trending topic on Twitter that day.

Less than a day after the incident, several memes and online quizzes making fun of Travolta’s error came up online.
News website Slate published a now-popular “Adele Dazeem†name generator, which helps readers find out how Travolta would erroneously pronounce their names if he introduces them on the Oscar stage. “You're no one until you've had your name mangled by a confused, squinting John Travolta,†Slate writes.
Taking it one step further, social news and entertainment website Buzzfeed, who dubbed Travolta as “the master pronouncer,†speculated how the “Hairspray†actor would have said the names of the stars present at the Oscars that night. According to the article, “Dallas Buyers Club†actor Jared Leto will be Jart Liters, “American Hustle†star Bradley Cooper will be Stanley Hooper, “12 Years a Slave†producer Brad Pitt will be Brat Spit and ‘Gravity†actress Sandra Bullock will be Cindy Block.
Of course, there are also the internet memes making fun of the incident, like this one which referenced Idina's role as Elphaba in the musical "Wicked."
Other Hollywood celebrities also took to social media about Travolta’s Idina Menzel flub.

But Hollywood media believes there’s a silver lining for Idina after the flub, as her profile could only be higher after the heightened social media exposure she got out of the incident, though not that she needs it; the "Wicked" and "Rent" actress is still basking from the victory of "Let It Go" from the movie "Frozen" as the Oscars 214 Best Original Song.
