LPU’s celebrity chefs

MANILA, Philippines - Several chef-instructors of the Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Culinary Institute have been charming televiewers recently through the country’s more popular morning shows, certainly starting the day right for a lot of interested housewives who have been loyal patrons of these shows. The chefs’ TV guest appearances not only banner their culinary expertise but also highlight their characteristic wit and humor as they dish out some asides while showing the kitchen rituals needed in preparing a certain savory delicacy.

Chef Redd Agustin, who used to work at the Millenium Hilton in Seoul, South Korea and is the most experienced among them, counts several guestings on GMA 7’s Unang Hirit and Kitchen Superstar. Chef Rency de Jesus who graduated from Culinary courses in Sydney, Australia, has been featured in Unang Hirit and Pinoy MD, and TV5’s Good Morning Club.

Chef Jan Maverick Co, who could give showbiz hunks a run for their money, is a veteran of Unang Hirit and TV5’s Chef VS Mom. The only lady in the group, Chef Aiz Anog, was featured on ABS-CBN’s Kris TV.
