Power of 3 run

Don't look now. But there's another big race coming up on December 5, which I'm sure runners can't resist. Well, how could you? With your P300 entry fee, a participant gets P200 worth of grocery products from Purefoods and San Miguel. He or she also gets a singlet costing P120. In other words, that's already P320, products and singlet. Yes folks, I'm talking about the Run to the Power of 3 that will blast off from Parkmall in Mandaue City, a race that offers a 10K, 5K, and 3K distances. San Miguel and Purefoods' executive Joselito Tan said they are also offering one of the biggest cash prizes with the champions in the 10K division each receiving P10,000 while the top finishers in the 5K go home richer by P5,000. In the 3K category, the champions are each assured of P2,000. Here's the rest of the cash prizes in the 10K division, second placers P6,000, third placers P4,000, fourth placers P2,000 and fifth placers P1,000. Fifth to tenth placers will receive P1,000. Eleventh to twentieth placers will get P500 worth of food products. In the 5K division, the second finishers will pocket P3,000, third placers P2,000, fourth placers P1,000, with the fifth to tenth, each receiving P500. Eleventh to twentieth placers will bring home P300 worth of groceries. In the 3K division, the second placers will each receive P1,500, the third placers P1,000, fourth placers P500, with the fifth to tenth placers each receiving P300. Eleventh to twentieth placers are assured of P300 worth of groceries. All top winners will receive trophies and medals. Not only that, a hotdog, coffee and Magnolia stations will also be set up at the finish line. The race is in cooperation with Buddha's Light International Association (BLIA) Cebu Chapter and Fo Guang Shan Chu Un Temple. Proceeds of the race will be for the benefit of Task Force Street Children Second Chance while being sponsored by San Miguel-Purefoods, Magnolia, Ginebra San Miguel, Star Margarine, San Mig Coffee, and Parkmall. Registration is now ongoing at Runnr Ayala Center, Casa Ilongga-Robinsons Place and PSC Office Cebu City Sports Center. It's an early Christmas gift for runners, so what are you waiting for? REGISTER NA!

ECO-DASH

I'm glad we raised a good number of plastic bottles during last Sunday's Eco-Dash run at the Ayala Center. For my part, I ran as Elvis in my white jumpsuit (It's no joke running 5K in this attire and belted a "Hound Dog-Blue Suede Shoes" medley) at the awarding ceremony. I ran for 30 minutes but the photo opt took almost 1 hour. Instead of yours truly having a photo opt with guest singer Barbie Almalbis (who happens to be my kababayan from Iloilo) it was Barbie who asked if she could pose with the King of Rock'n Roll.

Note: I would like to thank Parklane International Hotel, especially Stephen Taylaran for inviting us to the Paquiao-Margarito bout also last Sunday. Gracias Senor Stephen!
