CEBU, Philippines – Jess Gonzaga claimed his second straight 15K title in the men's side, while Mary Grace de los Santos, as expected, reigned supreme in the women's division during the 1st Mandaue Run For Life at Parkmall grounds yesterday morning.
Simon Losiaboi's decision to race in the 10K class was a big help to Gonzaga's triumph. Gonzaga clocked in 50 minutes and 19.76 seconds followed by John Philip Duenas in 50:31.14 and Jobert Carolino in 50:30.56.
In the distaff side, De los Santos reached the finish line with the best time of 56:53.62. Madelyn Carter bagged the second place honors in one hour and 11.62 seconds, while the fast-rising Mereeis Ramirez occupied the third spot in 1:08:03.99.
In the 10K run, Losiaboi won the battle in 3:14.46 followed by Alvirg Busa (33:57.38) and Riez Enriquez (34:23.57).
Mary Joy Tabal came out the fastest in the women's side with the time of 39:3.47. Joeyry Lee wound up second in 42:14.23 and Sharon Vega was third in 44:59.13.
Joel Delposo snatched the men's 5K crown with the time of 16:09.91, while Jorry Ycong landed at second in 16:15.38.
Crizel Diongson emerged as the fastest in the women's class after registering the time of 19:52.53. Aiza Suaybaguio placed second in 20:16.51 followed by Clarrisse Diongson in 21:10.50.
In the 3K open, Gabby Lariosa lorded it over in 13:51.09, while Bryan Perilla went away with the second place honors with the time of 16:55.13. Ariz Alivio landed at third place in 16:57.91.
Kids also had a grand time during the kick-off salvo of the Mandaue Business Month. Stanley Idio ruled the boys division followed by Rafael Tan and Ethan Ang, while the top three in the girls side were Catherine Desabille, Kate Winchell and Louis Agnes Reyes. (THE FREEMAN)
