CEBU, Philippines – Teams White, Yellow and Green got off to winning starts in the 24th season of the Still Fighting Athletics Association (SFAA) Inter-Color basketball tournament at the CEC Gym.
White, sponsored by Sunpride Sunny Hotdog, prevailed over the Archie Baba-backed Red , 59-56, while Yellow-Master Drug pulled off a masterful 92-54 victory over the undermanned Blue. In the final match of a featured triple-headerf, the Green squad defeated Maroon, 85-74.
Ernie Batad and Erwin Castro paced White with 30 points combined.
Michael Sumayang, on the other hand, sank five triples of his topscoring 25 points for Yellow, while uncle-nephew tandem of Arnel and Ric Ladonga connived for 25 markers.
Jun Seno and Ricky Misa led Green with 33 points combined, while Rick Dayondon and Rick Lumayag each contributed 14 points.
