DBTC 1 vs. Canduman in 10-under final

CEBU, Philippines - Don Bosco Technology Center Team 1 arranged a title showdown with Canduman in the 10-under division of the 9th Cebu Amateur Football Club (CAFC) National Inter-Club Football Cup yesterday at PAREF-Springdale’s football field, this city today.

In an amazing display of firepower, DBTC-1 massacred Sacred Heart School-Jesuit (SHS-J), 15-0, while Canduman prevented an all-Bosconian finale by outclassing DBTC Team 3 via a 5-3 decision in the other semifinal match.

Aside from the 10-under, the championship match in the boys 12 will also be played today at Springdale.

Over at the San Roque Parish field, the Bosconians were also merciless in coming up with a 15-0 annihilation of Blessed John Seminary to proceed into the boys 14-under semifinal with a clean 5-0 record.

On the other hand, the Armymen completed the Big Four cast in the 38-above class. They will square off against San Roque Football Club in the crossover semis.

In the men’s open, last year’s runner-up Hiroshi fought to a 2-all draw with the Queen City United at the end of the elimination round. The match has no bearing though as they already made it to the semis together with University of Cebu-ERCO and the Philippine Army.

Hiroshi will take on the Armymen at 9:30 am today, while UC-ERCO will go up against QCU at 1:30 pm. The winners will then clash for the championship. - THE FREEMAN
