CEBU, Philippines - A 46-year-old motorcycle-for-hire driver was shot to death by another man in Poblacion, Pinamungajan town the other night.
The fatality was identified as Antonio Gorres, married, a resident of Rizal Street in Poblacion of the said municipality.
Initial investigation conducted by the Pinamungajan Police revealed that while the victim was parking his motorcycle in front of a pawnshop waiting for passengers, 30-year-old Pablito Napolis, married, jobless and a resident of Cantuod, Balamban town allegedly armed with a .45 caliber pistol shot the victim seven times.
The victim died on the spot with the wounds he sustained on the various parts of his body.
Responding police officers conducted an immediate pursuit operation to locate the suspect.
After 20 minutes of tracking down the suspect, they were able to locate him and to facilitate his arrest.
Recovered from him was the firearm that he reportedly used in the shooting to death of the victim and another short empty magazine, as well as one extended magazine loaded with eight live bullets.
They also recovered seven empty shells of a .45 caliber pistol from the crime scene.
However, the suspect refused to give any answer when interrogated.
