CEBU, Philippines - A 34-year-old man was mauled and stabbed by seven unidentified men shortly before midnight yesterday on Tres de Abril Street, Barangay San Nicolas, Cebu City.
The victim, Jeffrey Salvador, married, resident of P. Del Rosario Extension, Barangay Sambag I still managed to flag down a taxicab and go to the Chong Hua Hospital for treatment.
Police investigation revealed that the victim was walking along the road around 11:50 p.m. when a group of unidentified men approached him and for unknown reasons, suddenly mauled him.
One of the seven men then pulled a pointed instrument and stabbed the victim on the back. Upon seeing the victim slumped on the road, the group then fled towards Panganiban Sreet.
Despite his injuries, Salvador was still able to hire a taxicab and proceed to the hospital for treatment.
