American loses P70,000 and valuables to burglar

-

An American citizen and his wife lost cash amounting to P70,000 and two cellular phones to a burglar in sitio Alanagasil, barangay Madridejos, Alegria town, last Wednesday night.

Alegria police chief Insp. Patrocinio Baylosis said Max Koehn and his wife Marilyn, 42, were vacationing in the country and last Wednesday decided to spend the night at the house of a relative named Virginia Durangco in sitio Alanagasil.

When they woke up the following morning, the couple found out that some items inside their traveling bag were already gone.

The lost items included cash amounting to P70,000, two cellular phones, credit cards, financial statements and the Kansas driver’s and Social Security number card owned by Max.

Baylosis said that the burglar might have entered through the kitchen’s door after breaking the barrel bolt.

Meanwhile, in barangay Tunghaan, Minglanilla town, the driver and the passengers of a multicab bound for barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City, lost cash and several valuable items to three unidentified robbers Thursday evening.

The driver, Marcelino Alid, 44, said the three men hailed him and got on in barangay Poblacion, Minglanilla.

As they were passing barangay Tunghaan on their way to Punta Princesa one of three men pulled out a gun and pointed it at his head then took away his P550 in earnings.  The two other men reportedly took the valuables from the three remaining passengers.  — Joy Kareen T. Saliente/BRP
