USP faculty office robbed

The faculty office of the University of Southern Philippines in Lahug lost more than P40,000 and devices belonging to some employees to alleged burglary last Sunday.

Theft investigator SPO4 Isagani Pugoy of the Theft and Robbery Section of Cebu City Police Office found a pair of scissors in the room on the following day.

Police said the school's employees reported the theft after discovering their drawers open, their money and stuff missing when they reported for work last Monday.

Dr. Athea Arenaro lost P1,000 while dean of College of Education Dr. Lucila Bonilla discovered her projector, a compact disc player, and assorted CDs worth P80,000 gone.

Daniel Patete Lariba Jr., the dean of College of Arts and Sciences lost P43,000.

The night before the alleged theft, in-house security personnel led by retired Army officer Rodulfo Angue arrested Peter Paul Perosillo, a maintenance man, for carrying a gun. - Edwin Ian Melecio
