At the recently concluded Kasalang Pilipino at the Ayala Center Cebu , the Fashion Council of Cebu which is composed of fashion pillars Albert Arriba, Jun Escario, Arcy Gayatin, Oj Hofer, Cary Santigo, Philip Rodriguez, Minnie Yuvienco and Felix Yu, unveiled bridal collections that would make every bride bloom on her special day.
"No matter how grand the affair, how fabulous the flower set up and decors, how fantastic the reception, the bride and her wedding gown are still the main attraction of the whole event and she should be vavavoom!" quipped Philip Rodriguez who toasted with Cebu Holdings Inc. President Francis Monera to formally open the Kasalang Pilipino Bridal Show and Exhibit exactly a week ago. And dress to impress indeed were every model bride from M.A.C.>Models Association of Cebu as they sashayed the rectangular aisle cum runway set amidst lush blooms courtesy of Pink Flora. Albert Arriba had a breezy chiffon wedding gown that trailed to eternity. Jun Escario broke the norms with a voluminous chiffon dress with pronounced decollete. A knee length lace wedding dress by Arcy Gayatin will surely put a smile on every bride as it did on her model bride. Cary Santiago's stretch jersey wedding dress was fitted to the model's every contour and presto! Hindu inspired styling and jewelry. Another breezy pleated wedding dress in oatmeal from Oj Hofer awed the already enthralled audience with the model bride holding a gold clutch instead of the de rigueur floral bouquet. Minnie Yuvienco envisioned an immaculate bride with her all white shantung wedding gown with lace panel insertions and illusion tulle veil. Very contemporary was Felix Yu's cotton lace bridal dress with asymmetric shoulder details sans beadwork. The finale generated thunderous applause as two grooms in different barong variations strut their stuff followed by the model bride in strapless lace corseted gown with multi-tiered palikpik details on the skirt all by Philip Rodriguez.
Next week's feature, the state weddings collection of Cebu Fashion Designers' Alliance consisting of Protacio, William Manahan, Ray Kuan, Edwin Ao, Ren Manabat, Wendell Quisido and Marichu Tan.
Bravissimo!
