Doc Ferds aids a horse with a tumor Part 2 of ‘The Vets Give Back, Born To Be Wild’s Christmas Special’
CEBU, Philippines - This Wednesday, the vets’ mission to give free medical treatment to domestic animals and wildlife continues. Doc Ferds Recio finds a wildlife sanctuary in Isabela province where animals have not been seen by a vet for three years. Among his patients: a large python with a wound on its snout, and a horse with a tumor. Doc Nielsen Donato meanwhile gives back to his hometown in Laguna by treating domesticated animals that need attention. There he meets horses, pigs, and a monkey chained to a tree branch. But the work is just beginning.
The Docs are determined to treat each and every animal brought to their attention. But when stampeding ostriches and runaway horses steal the scene, the “occupational hazards” of being a doctor to wild animals come into view. The two Docs continue on even with the challenges. “It’s all in a day’s work,” say the two vets to the wild.
