The megastar's daughter signs up with Star Magic amid talk that former manager quit on her. KC Concepcion has finally said her piece regarding her parting of ways with her talent managers Sandra Chavez and Shirley Kuan at The Buzz last Sunday. There was also a statement from Mr. Johnny Manahan, the chairman emeritus of Star Magic, that confirmed that KC has signed up with Star Magic. The statement released by Manahan, widely known as Mr. M in showbiz circles, reads:
"It is with great pride, honor and joy that I welcome KC to the Star Magic family where she is much appreciated. By joining us, KC should take the comfort to know that she will be treated with much decency, love and respect by her Star Magic management."
"KC can likewise be assured she has the full and enthusiastic backing of ABS-CBN and her Star Magic family of artists. We are all grateful for her trust and confidence."
"And we wish to extend our appreciation to Ms. Sandra Chavez and Ms. Shirley Kuan who have generously extended their full cooperation in making the transition smooth and cordial."
"We now wish for KC to further bloom into a finer actress and entertainer and a personality worthy of admiration by a very discriminating public."
Now that KC's change of management has been confirmed, it is our wish that the trading of brickbats and unsavory text messages would stop. We have been receiving text messages discrediting SK (Shirley Kuan) who has decided to keep quiet over the issue. Suffice to say, it was she who quit as KC's manager and she may have her own reasons for doing so. And if she chooses to keep quiet that ought to be respected as well.
As for the text messages we are receiving that are disparaging to SK's name, we'd rather not print them. After all, the one sending the messages doesn't even have the guts to identify himself or herself. Of course, it was pretty obvious that the one sending the messages is a KC defender, otherwise he or she won't put SK in a bad light.
In all fairness to SK, we didn't receive any text message or word from her that could create an unflattering image of KC. However, we did read blind items regarding the issue, but unless we heard them straight from KC's former manager, we'd rather not give credence to them.
It's not always easy when a talent and manager sever their ties but it is a fact of life. As KC explained it on The Buzz, it came to her as a surprise that her decision to change managers should spark a big issue even before her transfer to Star Magic was made public.
Of course, it's a big issue because one of her managers quit on her. With that, it's but logical for her to look for a new manager to handle her career. We do not wish to dwell anymore on the real story behind why she and SK parted ways, but we'd like to wish KC good luck and we hope that her career would flourish under Star Magic.
