Effective project management key to boost revenues, output

CEBU, Philippines - Effective project management enables companies to enhance productivity, achieve customer satisfaction and increase revenue generation.

This according to Vincent Cruz, operations head of Prominds Solutions Inc., who served as the speaker on the Project Management Excellence seminar held at Cebu Parklane International Hotel last July 25 – 26.

Cruz said that it has been typical for companies to create projects, however, not knowing that they can decrease cost, time and effort required for such projects if only equipped with the right knowledge and tools.

He further said that there are also changes on the projects not foreseen which can cause delays for the company and increase its expenditure.

“We prepare the industry and prevent these risks from happening. We teach them in handling issues and complaints. At the end of the day, you just don’t create projects. You manage risks in the projects to enhance productivity and provide better quality to your customers,” he said.

He noted that there are actually businessmen who don’t know the tools in creating and starting project plans.

He then suggested tools like Microsoft Project that are more efficient, easy-to-use and not time-consuming compared to Microsoft Excel.

“This served as an eye-opener for them to become efficient and plan effectively. Education on project management could somehow minimize their cost and maximize their revenue. Plus they can gain more customers and more people will trust them,” Cruz continued.

Such management, he added, could be used by different sectors such as real estate industry, software development, services, banks, engineering companies, power plants, realty, construction and schools.

The Project Management Excellence program also highlighted the practical application of the concepts in the day-to-day planning and execution of projects, developing the project scope and schedule, creating a project management plan, and developing a communications plan.

Organized by the AGF Consulting Group, the two-day seminar was attended by eighteen participants and seven companies from different industries. (FREEMAN)
