BCCP strengthens partnership with NEDA to advance trade, investment priorities

The British Chamber of Commerce Philippines (BCCP) reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening UK-Philippines trade and investment during a recent courtesy visit to the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA).

BCCP Executive Chairman Chris Nelson met with NEDA Secretary Arsenio M. Balisacan to discuss key economic priorities and strategic collaboration to drive sustained growth.

With total UK-Philippines trade in goods and services reaching £2.8 billion as of Q3 2024, the Chamber emphasized its role in attracting British investors and supporting economic liberalization.

As the UK remains a leading investor in the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), BCCP also welcomed PEZA’s upcoming investment mission to the UK in June 2025, which aims to further strengthen bilateral trade and investment.

NEDA highlighted the government’s focus on enhancing the ease of doing business, expanding digital connectivity, and driving infrastructure development to position the Philippines as a competitive investment destination.

BCCP echoed its support for critical reforms, including the Konektadong Pinoy Act, E-Governance Act, and Cybersecurity Act, which are vital to advancing digital transformation and economic growth.

Aligned with these priorities, BCCP reiterated its strong support for key legislative measures such as the Konektadong Pinoy Act, E-Governance Act, and Cybersecurity Act, which are essential for advancing digital connectivity, government efficiency, and cybersecurity resilience.

The Chamber also remains at the forefront of food security initiatives and trade policies, including Executive Order 62, ensuring stable agricultural supply chains.

Through ongoing engagement with NEDA and key stakeholders, BCCP remains steadfast in its mission to foster stronger UK-Philippines trade relations, advocate for business-friendly policies, and support economic resilience
