Contract law guide for non-lawyers

MANILA, Philippines -  The Center for Global Best Practices (CGBP) is launching a one-day seminar titled, “Best Practices Guide on Contract Law for Non-Lawyers” on March 16, 2017 at the EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Mandaluyong City.

This pioneering seminar is designed to update professionals, businessmen and non-lawyers and decision makers about the fundamentals and sticky areas of Philippine law governing obligations and contracts.

Knowledge of the substance and form of agreements can prevent serious conflicts and business losses that can snowball into lawsuits and even violence. A legally enforceable contract binds the parties to their respective promises and signals the start of a smooth and continuous relationship for them.

This special learning event will feature book author Atty Jim Lopez, the director of legal programs of CGBP. He holds the distinction of being the only author and law practitioner who is a three-time winner of the National Book Awards given by the Manila Critics Circle and the National Book Development Board. He finished law at UP and pursued post-graduate studies at Harvard Law School, University of California (Hastings) and University of Southern California.
